| South Whidbey is My Community |
|
My husband Lance and I moved to Langley in 1983 from Seattle with our two young children, because we thought Whidbey Island would be a good healthy place to raise our family. Were we ever right! I spent the next 20 years doing that, along with helping hundreds of others parents by working with homeschool support, teaching childbirth and parenting classes, attending births as a doula, and directing a non-profit called Pregnancy Aid as a volunteer.

| I Love Real Estate |
|
In the mean time, I designed and we built two homes on the island, a passive solar log home and a straw bale house. We remodeled another house into a duplex and renovated 2 fixer-uppers, which we maintain as affordable rentals. In the process, I discovered that I love real estate- walking boundary lines and considering responsible sustainable land development, looking at solar paths and building sites, planning new construction and doing renovations, learning about and utilizing green building materials and techniques, thinking about investments and cash flows, and mostly imagining turning a house into a home for someone.

| Giving Back to My Community |
|
I feel so blessed to live on beautiful Whidbey Island and want to be a blessing in return. I have committed to let my listing clients choose a local charity, church or school to receive a donation of 10% of my commission. Give me a call if I can help you with listing your home or buying your first or tenth property.
In 2006 and 2007, I was a captain of a Hearts and Hammer Team, helping to provide free home repairs for some older neighbors in need to keep them safe in their homes.
In 2005, for our Annual Windermere Community Service Day, we refurbished the House of Hope in Langley, home of Pregnancy Aid, Helping Hand, Whidbey Island Shared Housing, AA, etc.
In June 2007 our project was to help restore the historic Bayview Hall. We spent the day painting the interior, helping to build a wheelchair ramp, landscaping and cleaning.
